Research notes
9 Oct 2026: Col (rt) Graham du Toit Last Post, 9 Oct 2026, gives the fuller account: "Two members of 53 Battalion were killed when their Buffel Troop Carrier overturned North of Ogongo" -- same incident as this record's companion, Le Roux (31264, 53 Battalion). Service number, date, age and rank already matched.
9 Oct 2026: UNIT CONFLICT, NOT CHANGED: stored Unit "Infantry School"; Col (rt) Graham du Toit Last Post, 9 Oct 2026, instead names "53 Battalion" (matching this man's companion casualty, Le Roux, 31264, already stored under 53 Battalion). Flagged for review.
