Citation

MC LG Sup 17 Sept 1917 pg. 9568 - "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty on two occasions, in entering a dug out which had been wrecked by hostile shell fire, extricating the victims and carrrying them to the dressing station, three hundred yards away, under heavy and continous shell fire. By this prompt and gallant action he and his N.C.O. were the direct means of saving many lives, as the place was again hit directly after his work was completed. He has frequently proved himself an extremely gallant officer, with utter disregard for danger when assisting others"; MID LG Sup 18 May 1917 pg. 4877
