LG 23 July 1940 pg. 4530 - "This pilot skilfully manoeuvred his aircraft for 35 minutes when attacked by nine hostile fighters on 21st May 1940. He brought down one enemy aircraft with his front gun and enabled his gunner to shoot down another. Despite his aircraft being badly damaged, the rudder being half shot away by cannon, Pilot Officer Dexter managed to return to his base and land safely."
