Notes

From South Africa. Was at St Andrew's for a year in 1914 when he was fourteen, he left to continue his education in Rhodesia. Though under age he joined the Graham White Flying School and in 6 weeks got his flying ticket. On 18th June 1916, the same day as he was gazetted to the Royal Naval Air Service he was killed in an accident in London (another source says a motor accident). On King Edward VII School, Johannesburg Memorial. On Milton High School, Bulawayo Memorial. Death registered in Paddington, Vol. 1a page 90
