Cause of Death
Died of injuries, received March 4th in Batavia, Java, as a POW. Ten Hurricanes were ordered to attack Kalidjati airfield on 4/3/42. Anderson was one of 4 detailed to remain as top cover whilst 6 attacked the airfield. Eventually the 4 went down to add to the attack they were themselves attacked by Japanese fighters but pulled out and, as instructed, continued to Andir as their new base. Anderson didn't appear. He was taken prisoner but died in captivity 2 days later
