He escaped POW camp at Tobruk in 1942 and gave up the chance to become a Corporal so he could go to Italy. Owner of personal gear found them in a suitcase in his old house' garage. He petitioned the SA government in 1999 to issue his medals as they were not awarded to him posthumously. A clerk for the SAR&H in Windhoek, South West Africa. ***Jewish
