Son of Robert Cottle-Green, of 20 Kinver Road, Sydenham, ex-chairman of the Pretoria Club, South Africa. Born Pretoria, South Africa. His brother Robert Cottle-Green also died in service. He is commemorated on his brother's headstone in France.

Citation

Awarded while Sgt. 31 March 1978 - "He displayed initiative and bravery of the highest order. He personally accounted for 14 CT kills and 8 captures, including high ranking commanders". He was also recommended for Rhodesia's highest award, the Grand Cross of Valour.
