Col (rt) Graham du Toit Last Post 15 Oct 2025: 78680338CK Corporal James Barnard Phillander, South African Cape Corps, Killed in Action during a contact with SWAPO/PLAN insurgents in Northern Owamboland, age 22. ROH rank is Lance Corporal, age 19; cause is hanged himself at Kimberley (not overwritten).

25 Sep 2026, Unit2 service-branch sweep: the stored Secondary Unit "Army" was CLEARED as a duplicate. It was not a sub-unit, it was a service-branch word repeating what the Branch column already says. Secondary Unit is for sub-units -- a company, a squadron, a commando -- and this record's branch of service is unchanged at "Army".

Two independent sources now agree against that: Col (rt) Graham du Toit Last Post, 15 Oct 2026 (age 22, "Killed in Action during a contact with SWAPO/PLAN insurgents in Northern Owamboland") and SAWGP (southafricawargraves.org/search/details.php?id=32487: age 22, "Killed in action...died of shrapnel wounds to the head, received in a contact, in 2 Military Area" -- 2 Military Area was the operational area covering Ovamboland, consistent with Graham's wording, not contradictory). Mike Sandham's research log had already flagged Age 22 vs this record's 19 on 16 Sep 2026 without resolving it; now resolved by the agreeing pair. RANK NOTE, NOT CHANGED: Graham says "Corporal"; this record and SAWGP both agree on "Lance Corporal" -- Graham's rank treated as the outlier, not applied.
