Research notes

SN CORRECTION 25 Aug 2026: ServiceNo 72430465BA cleared -- the pantser.cmvo.org.za SADF deaths PDF lists that number under "MEDHURST, EUGENE" (RFN, Sterf 13 04 76), matching PersonNumber 31843 (Medhurst, DateDeath 1976-04-13) by surname and exact date, not this record. Original value: "72430465BA". Left as an unresolved collision otherwise -- this correction is specific to this one PDF-confirmed case, not a general claim this record's other data is wrong.
14 Oct 2026: FirstName "First Name Unknown" cleared -- a literal placeholder string, not a real name, treated as blank per John's instruction extending the Khaile (31046) fix. Initials cleared too, having been equally corrupted to the placeholder "F N U".
14 Oct 2026: SAWGP gives this man's real given name, Johannes (Initials J) -- filled in now that the junk placeholder is cleared. Regiment "Civilian" matches this record's own Regiment exactly.
