Le Roux , Ernest Jacobus (E J)

25 Sep 2026, Unit2 service-branch sweep: the stored Secondary Unit "Army" was CLEARED. It was not a sub-unit, it was a service-branch word, and it CONTRADICTED this record's own Branch, "Air Force". Across the roll 787 records carried such a contradiction; judged against Corps and Regiment -- independent of both columns -- the evidence backed Branch 744 times and Unit2 not once. Branch is therefore kept and the contradicting word removed. Nothing is guessed: this man's branch of service is already recorded, and his sub-unit, if any, is simply not known.
6 Oct 2026: POSSIBLE DUPLICATE, NOT MERGED: same ServiceNo (85452134) and same unit as PersonNumber 48789 (Le Roux, Ernest Jacobus, 85452134BG, dated 6 Oct 1986). Col (rt) Graham du Toit Last Post, 6 Oct 2026, itself gives this man TWICE: 6 Oct 1986 (found dead at family home in Bronkhorstspruit, self-inflicted gunshot, age 17) and 6 Oct 1987 (AWOL, then self-inflicted gunshot with father's service pistol, age 17). Year of death is therefore unresolved; this record (1987, age 18) and 48789 (1986, no age) were not merged. Flagged for a human decision on the year and the duplicate.
