Research notes

Col (rt) Graham du Toit Last Post 02 Jan 2026: 81961336HV Rifleman Petrus Daniel, 101 Battalion SWATF, accidentally drowned during a river crossing in the Operational Area, age 22. Unit was 8 SAI (only 8 SAI record with HV suffix and SWATF regiment) — corrected to 101 Battalion. ROH cause is drowned while swimming in the Cunene River; body not recovered (not overwritten).
25 Sep 2026, Unit2 service-branch sweep: the stored Secondary Unit "Army" was CLEARED as a duplicate. It was not a sub-unit, it was a service-branch word repeating what the Branch column already says. Secondary Unit is for sub-units -- a company, a squadron, a commando -- and this record's branch of service is unchanged at "Army".
