Son of Phillip C. Dammert, of Carlisle Street, Maitland, Cape Town and Jasmine I. Dammert, of Newlands, Cape Town. Brother to Dean, Annelisa, Wendy and Peter-John. He was an ex-pupil of the Christian Brothers College. He was unmarried.
4 Sep 2026: Unit leftover "14 Artillery Regiment" (a named regiment, not a sub-unit) moved to Regiment. Corps unchanged.
25 Sep 2026, Unit2 service-branch sweep: the stored Secondary Unit "Army" was CLEARED as a duplicate. It was not a sub-unit, it was a service-branch word repeating what the Branch column already says. Secondary Unit is for sub-units -- a company, a squadron, a commando -- and this record's branch of service is unchanged at "Army".
2 Oct 2026: YEAR CONFLICT, NOT CHANGED. Mike Sandham (SAWGP) omissions email, 2 Oct 2026, quotes this record's own SAWGP entry exactly (02 Oct 1991, age 19, same cause) but also quotes two independent sources giving a different YEAR: the pantser.cmvo.org.za SADF deaths PDF ("Sterf = 02 10 92", i.e. died 2 Oct 1992) and warinangola.com's 14 Artillery Regiment Potchefstroom unit profile ("Date of Death = 1992/10/02" explicitly). Bushwar Books separately gives a differing narrative detail (Buffel tyre burst "causing the driver to lose control") and Age 20, not 19. DateDeath NOT changed from 1991-10-02 since this record's own SAWGP source still says 1991 and no single source is clearly authoritative; flagging the 1991-vs-1992 conflict for human review. (The Wall of Remembrance 1992 Army Panel photo Sandham also cites is hosted on SAWGP under an unrelated man's page, id=29566 -- Boyd, David John, PersonNumber 29566 here, died 1991-10-11 -- again just a photo host page, not an identity claim.)
