SASFA In Memoriam (operators KIA outside the SA Military context): confirmed operator; SASFA lists this death outside the SA military context — not treated as a new SADF/SANDF roll entry. SASFA: Conradie Frans 1983. https://www.recce.co.za/wp-content/uploads/2023/10/4.1.-Memoriam.pdf SASFA Conradie Frans 1983 outside SA military context. Already on the roll as SWAPOL/Koevoet KIA 1983-09-23 — former Recce operator, death not SADF Recce.
Col (rt) Graham du Toit Last Post 23 Sep 2026: gives the full circumstances, which this record lacked -- the vehicle overturned at about 18h00 turning into the main street of Oshakati opposite the Post Office; Warrant Officer Rob Brockway sustained a broken leg in the same accident; Conradie, with a crushed hip and pelvis, was taken to the Sector 10 HQ sick bay and casevaced by Puma to the Base Army Surgical Hospital at AFB Ondangwa, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Cause of death rewritten accordingly.
- SERVICE NUMBER CONFLICT flagged, not changed: Graham gives W85802B, this record W89802B -- one digit apart. Rank, forename, date, unit and age all agree.
Bushwar Books "Lest We Forget 23 September" (warbooks.co.za/posts/lest-we-forget-23-september/), cross-checked 23 Sep 2026 -- a very partial republish, carrying only 2 of the 10 names in Graham du Toit's post for the day: gives "W85802B Lieutenant Frans Willem Conradie", age 30. This AGREES WITH GRAHAM ON THE SERVICE NUMBER against this record -- W85802B from two sources now, W89802B here, one digit apart. The flag stands but the weight has moved; this record's number is the outlier. Bushwar also gives his middle name, WILLEM, which this record's initials F W already implied but its FirstName did not carry -- filled in.
