Killed in action, during a Nebelwerfer barrage on B Squadron positions, at Chiusi. He had joined the Squadronn only that morning and was busy climbing on to the tank of the Squadron Rear Link to receive orders when the Nebelwerfers were heard approaching. He jumped into the co-drivers compartment but was unable to close the hatch in time when the round struck the tank near the lap gun, killing him and wounding 3 others
