Died in Aircraft Accident, Mosquito B.20 KB206, took off from Warboys at 1900 hrs for a high-level night cross-country training flight, the crew being briefed to fly at 27, 000 feet. At around 2100 hrs, the Mosquito broke up and crashed at Yew Tree Farm, Basford Cheddieton, south of Leek, Stafford

Notes

Son of Richard Wright Albertson and Elizabeth Albertson; husband of Rona Albertson (nee Johnson), of Bulawayo, Southern Rhodesia. Entered Milner House in August, 1926; after leaving Plumtree School in 1931 he was employed by the Texas Company. He attested in November, 1940, and received preliminary training in Southern Rhodesia and the Union; on returning to Rhodesia he was engaged on flying instructors' duties until proceeding overseas in June, 1944. Commissioned 21st May 1941. On Plumtree School Roll of Honour.
