LG Sup 16 September 1918 pg. 11011 - "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. When after a successful counterattack his battalion was for a considerable timein a precarious position with both flanks exposed, he displayed great powers of leadership, constantly going round and encouraing the men under heavy fire until he was wounded. It was largely due to his efforts that teh front line was held intact."
