On the 24th February 1942 when en route from Cardiff on the 14th January 1942 and the 12th February for Buenos Aires, left Belfast 19th February 1942 carrying a cargo of coal and coke she was torpedoed by German submarine U-162 and sunk. Crew of 47 presumed lost
