Killed in action, two RAF Wellington, the HX518 and HX423, belonging to 15 OTU are attacked at the height of the islands Sisargas. The aircraft had taken off from England to the Middle East and met a Ju-88, which rose rapidly to gain speed on them. In two passes tripped the HX518, but in turn the Junkers was shot down by defensive fire from the HX423, which was damaged

Born Westville, Natal, 13th April 1919, son of Wilhelm Felix Lourenz Konigkramer and Dorothy Evelyn, nee Pearce. Ed, Malvern Intermediate Government School, Natal. Cadet Draft 1935-36. After completing his course in General Botha, Wilfred Ernold Konigkramer joined Andrew Weir & Co, and in 1941 enlisted with the RAF and became Sergeant. On 20th July 1942 he was posted missing when en route from the United Kingdom to the Middle East. Ex-Cadet of the South African Training Ship General Botha
