Citation

LG Sup 17 September 1917 - "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. As his brigade was going into action the column became disorganised by shell fire, which caused many casualties and blocked the narrow track. He at once took command, and by his splendid example of coolness and the clear orders which he gave under heavy shell fire order was restored, and the brigade was got into action before dawn."
