Citation

DFC LG Sup 9 July 1943 pg. 3095 - "Over a period of 15 months Captain Kaufman has displayed continuous gallantry in the Western Desert and has to his credit at least three enemy aircraft destroyed. As a flight commander he has led the squadron most successfully. By his untiring efforts to fly at all times this officer’s gallant conduct has set an excellent example, while his courage and fine fighting spirit have been of the highest order."; MID LG 1 January 1943 pg. 42
