Notes

Son of William and Elizabeth Eadington. Born in Nowshera, India. Educated at Aliwal North High School. After Bothie apprenticed to Thesen Line, obtaining his Second Mates's Certificate in 1934. He remained with Thesen Line during WW2 and was serving as Chief Officer of the S.S. Harrier when she left Durban for Dar es Salaam and Mombasa on Sunday 6th June 1943. After departure from Durban no further news was heard of the vessel which was presumed to have been totally lost with all hands, due to enemy action.
