1st DSO LG Sup 4 June 1917 pg 5469 - "King's Birthday"; 2nd DSO LG Sup 14 Aug 1917 - "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. During operations for six days he displayed great courage and ability. His battalion was very short of officers, and he had no rest in that period. His splendid example and total disregard for safety inspired his men with great confidence."
