Killed in action, driving from Ondangwa to Oshakati and gave a lift to a man who, unknown to him, was a member of SWAPO/PLAN. Halfway to Oshakati Warrant Gabriel stopped alongside the road to relieve himself, leaving his FN rifle in the vehicle with the passenger. The SWAPO/PLAN passenger took the rifle and shot him dead before successfully making his escape
