Citation

MC LG Sup 18 March 1918 - "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty when in command of a company in an attack. During a heavy bombardment of the newly captured position he moved up and down the shell hole line visiting his posts and encouraging his men. He secured his position very skilfully, and so directed the fire of his men as to break up a serious hostile counter-attack. He showed great courage and initiative." DCM LG Sup 29 September 1916 - "For conspicuous gallantry during operations. He collected and dressed the wounded under very heavy fire, and carried them to safety. Although wounded, he refused to cease work"
