Killed in action, during the advance of "A" Squadron, in the vicinity of Torrito di Siena, Italy. His tank was blown up by a mine or demolition charge, killing Bodington, Harvard and Meyer. Crawford died later from severe burn injuries
Son of Mr. W. S. Meyer and Mrs. Meyer, of 110 Jameson Avenue, Salisbury, Southern Rhodesia. Born Melsetter, Southern Rhodesia. A miner. He was unmarried. He had 3 sisters and 4 brothers.
