Son of Margaret and the late Alfred John Keeler, of 502, Moore Rd., Durban, Natal, South Africa. Commemoration stone in the Durban (West Street) Cemetery.
LG 7 March 1916 - "For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty. He held the line for three days before the attack under very difficult conditions and heavy shell fire. In the attack he prevented a threatened check by dashing forward and leading his company to the objective. He set a splendid example of determination and contempt of danger."
